MANILA, Philippines — More than half of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators have shut down their business in the country, the government’s corporation on amusement and gaming disclosed Friday.
During deliberations on the proposed 2022 national budget before the House committee on appropriations, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation chairperson Andrea Domingo said that a number of POGOs have already transferred to neighboring countries.“POGO, halos kalahati na lang. Marami na ho ang nagsara. More than half have already closed. They went to Cambodia, and Vietnam, and Laos,” she said.
Domingo, however, did not disclose the exact number of POGOs still operating in the country. But according to a list available on Pagcor’s website, there are 41 approved POGOs in the country as of August 6.
Aba bakit natin sila paaalisin? Not paying proper taxes? But they’re paying the proper “ehem”.
Good riddance
Dahil dyan sa POGO… kya kumalat ang COVID. MEMESHEY na kyo at yung demonyo nyong amo.
GOOOOODD!!!! Dapat lang nalumayas lahat ng PUTANG CHEKWA SA PINAS!!!! MAMATAY NA LAHAT NG CHEKWA!!!
Social menace sila sa village namin, they litter , spit anywhere, raise their voices, etc.. Even their Pinoy drivers park anywhere they want blocking our driveways. Let them leave.
Good for the country!
Dun sa dati kong work, ang daming pogo staff, actually patago silang nag ooperate sa loob ng building sa dati kong work
Considering how they don't pay proper taxes, this isn't really a loss now is it? In fact, we can still charge them for tax evasion and take whatever they have left here.
Not at all surprised with our neighbors leaving us behind
Gaga
No to POGO. Yes to BPO.
