KLANG: Selangor Raja Muda Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has clarified that he is not linked to the company set to develop a portion of the Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve (KLNFR) that had been degazetted.

The land had been given by the state to Gabungan Indah Sdn Bhd, for a mixed-commercial development project.

Tengku Amir said he was deeply concerned about the environment and how development had an irreversible impact on climate change, which would adversely affect the current and future generation of people. “They also remain home to rare flora and fauna, and their loss further risks diminishing our biodiversity,’’ said Tengku Amir.“Going forward, I wish everyone to pursue the most ambitious path. Make it all our responsibility to protect and rehabilitate as much of this land.

The degazettement of the parcel of land had raised the ire of many people including both Selangor government and Opposition assemblymen.
