An Australian company is providing $200,000 worth of taxi vouchers to residents to safely travel to their first or second COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Cabcharge boss Cyrus Asher said he wanted to provide people with a safe way to get to their appointment as the Delta variant's transmissibility was higher.

Picture: Supplied “We want to aid the vaccination initiative across the state and hope other businesses can support this initiative as well.” Ten people will win a year's worth of flights to 60 destinations, including overseas destinations, free accommodation and free fuel.The options include 1,000 Qantas points, 15 status credits or a $20 flight discount for Qantas or Jetstar.

Smaller local incentives include a free tinnie at Lord Gladstone Hotel in Sydney’s Chippendale, which has renamed itself the “Lord Jabstone”.
