Oh dear That is..
Someone getting confused with black hat and white hat
RT : IBM nears deal to acquire potato security company Red Hat: sources
popey Oh no.
popey RedHat isn’t a Cybersecurity company (although, arguably, every tech company should be a Cybersecurity company). They’re a FOSS/Linux company with some fantastic support capabilities.
It’s sad how big dinosaur companies buy up newer companies then micro manage them out of business. I really hope that doesn’t happen here.
“Cyber security”
The timing is great for an acquisition for IBM. Red Hat is down 58 below it’s June high. IBM needs to expand to evolve. Years ago when IBM was in it’s prime, this would have been blocked by antitrust.
Red Hat is an open source enterprise Linux software for Cloud management
The IBM buy and crush tactic, as a last resort in this case, because they failed to shift from the paradigm of centralized computing (mainframes.) Now, after Red Hat does the work of getting all sorts of Federal contracts, while IBM was trying to quash them, they're trying this.
Wtf Red Hat is an Operating System company based on LINUX. IBM is making a classic Enterprise play.
Curious and confused. Why is IBM interested in a Linux company?
