Pharmaceutical firms have been working to quickly replenish the supply of branded medicines for symptoms like fever after some drug stores reported running out of stock, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said on Wednesday.

Duque said the reports he had been receiving indicated that there was a sufficient supply of generic medicines.

"Ang feedback sa akin 'yung generic maayos naman at sapat ang supply ng ating mga generic symptomatic treatment katulad ng mga paracetamol,” he added. Duque said the Department of Health and the Department of Trade and Industry had been discussing measures to ensure that there would be enough symptomatic treatment medicines in the market.
