Opinion: The wheels of justice turn slowly, but the Obama Administration’s vendetta against payday lenders is now emerging into full view in federal court. It isn’t pretty:

Most of his policies were vindictive that’s why he used executive orders not the legislative process

Who did you write this for? And what the h*ll has happened to the WSJ?

If my bank would lend me 500 for two weeks with a reasonable rate. Payday loan places would not exist. Banks make plenty of money. It’s time for them to serve the customers not complain that small loan shops are costing them money.

Legalized loan sharks. What other immoral/unethical business practices do y'all want to champion? Just because it's legal doesn't make it right.

Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it should happen. These people are the worst kind of businesses and Obama had every right to go after them. They destroy lives.

Payday lenders are bottom feeders

Predators that should be outlawed. They ruin lives. They are not legitimate business industry. WSJ shows its true colors supporting the loan shark industry.

What payday lenders do isn't pretty. I stand with the victims. And Obama's efforts to save them from this rapacious industry.

Payday lending, even the bible says it’s a sin.

You folks critical of the WSJ headline should read the article. The lawsuit is that the CFPB denied due process to the businesses. The commentary further says that a government which denies due process to payday lenders can deny due process to Planned Parenthood.

Slavery was once legal too jerk. This is a sick for profit scam that abuses the poor. Get outta here!

I tried to show people how the payday lenders were actually a better alternative than late fees, bank fees and bank loans at the time the vilifying began.

Oh come on - this was unbridled greed preying on our poor military. WSJ is sinking low here.

Of course the wsj thinks loan sharking should be legal.

Pathetic. It is a predatory lending industry that preys on the desperation of people.

Payday lenders are a scourge in our society and frankly should be outlawed. They're basically state sanctioned extortion that lead consumers into financial ruin.

There should be no predatory paybay lenders— they’re a pox on the poor.

WSJ helping undermine US democratic institutions since 2017.

The way you say it makes it sound like the payday lenders are innocent victims of a witch hunt, not predatory sharks that prey on the needy and entrench them further in poverty.

We have USURY laws...the conspiracy by our government on EVERY LEVEL...including the judiciary to make sure they are not enforced....therein lies the problem

I feel sorry for the good reporters at wsj to have to carry this kind of poison.

The WSJ comes out in support of predatory lenders.

What? I'm all for decreased regulation, but payday lenders are the scum of the earth.
