The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration is open to investors interested in doing business in waste management and other sectors in the state.

Sanwo-Olu also said the state government was also working to create a one-stop-shop to make contract approvals, building approvals and documentation seamless for investors. Speaking at the opening of a Lagos consulate by the Swedish Embassy in Nigeria, he urged individuals and corporate organisations to take advantage of the market in Lagos to further deepen their business.

He said, “Some of these transactions take a bit of time to get consummated. Someone told me he was ready to convert waste to gas or fuel. So, we’ve got a few expressions of interest. I think the special adviser, PPP Office is doing due diligence to know those who are the best for such engagement. “But it is to say that Lagos is ready for a lot of such other initiatives. The market is here. The numbers are here. If it is an assembly plant you want to open up, we have several cars that are built by Scania, for example. So, if it is a business-to-business relationship that you think would further deepen your market, this is where you need to be.
