Last week, a WhatsApp message purportedly from the police went viral claiming there were people posing as water or electricity company representatives to rob people. Was such a message sent?

In a statement, Tapah OCPD Supt Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the message was not issued by the police and added that no reports of such robberies or break-ins were received. "An investigation by the police found that this WhatsApp message also went viral in 2019," said Supt Wan Azhar.
