No basis was established in two legal cases against the non-jury Special Criminal Court to warrant the judiciary interfering with the executive, a High Court judge has said. Mr Justice Anthony Barr refused all reliefs sought by Gerry “The Monk” Hutch and Jonathan Dowdall, a former Sinn Féin councillor, who had taken judicial review proceedings against the legality of the three-judge Special Criminal Court .
