The Congress of Traditional Leaders of SA and Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders have expressed dissatisfaction over what they call government’s lack of commitment in solving various challenges affecting the jurisdiction of traditional leaders.

Chairperson of the Limpopo Contralesa Kgoshi Letsiri Phaahla says: “I am very disappointed with lack of commitment in dealing with the issue concerning traditional courts’ bill. There is a perception that it discriminates against women which is not true.” Traditional leaders have also appealed to government to raise their monthly stipend. They currently earn just over R19 000 per month.Deputy President David Mabuza says: ” I apologize on behalf of government for failing to deliver on certain things, and I am making a commitment that they will deal with the issues as they are already at the President’s office.”Share article
