“This is another important milestone for MDA that demonstrates our ability to execute in the rapidly accelerating global space economy and further reinforces our role as a worldwide leader in robotics and space operations,” Mike Greenley, chief executive of the Brampton, Ont.-based company, said in a statement.
MDA, which makes satellites and provides geo-intelligence, isn’t new to space missions. Before completing Phase 0 and A of Canadarm3, it contributed to the completion of Canadarm2 and, in 1999, had purchased the company which built the original Canadarm. “MDA now intends to leverage its world-class engineering capabilities, mission expertise, and cutting-edge Canadarm3 technology with an eye towards commercializing space robotics products in the years ahead,” Greenley said.
MDA also announced this week that it will supply Ukraine with high-quality satellite images as part of Ottawa’s efforts to assist the eastern European country in its fight against Russia’s invasion.
financialpost I'm sure Canada Geese that build nests on MDA property at corner of Airport Road and Williams Parkway in Brampton every spring will be appreciative of this multi million dollar contract. 🙏
