The Vrygrond Youth Café will focus on improving education outcomes and opportunities for the youth between the ages of 16 to 35.
The Western Cape Department for Social Development along with the Sozo Foundation, based in Vrygrond, spearheaded the initiative. Ministerial spokesperson, Joshua Chigome says the Cafe provides young people a place where they may find a sense of belonging. “Youth Cafés offer young people the opportunity to acquire job readiness skills, gain entrepreneurial insights and training, and learn how to access funding opportunities, as well as practical training programmes across various sectors. They offer an accessible environment where young people may also find a sense of belonging among like-minded peers.”
