Senior Goldman Sachs Australia investment banker Chris Champion is leaving the bank to link up with one of his long-term clients.

It is understood Champion, a Goldman Sachs managing director and long-time head of its Australia/NZ financing group, is joining businessman Christian Beck’s family office, where he will help Beck and his team try to grow their business globally.

Beck owns ATI Global, a legal technology, software and information services company that owns InfoTrack, Leap Legal and other software brands. He is onGoldman Sachs - and Champion - have been heavily involved in financing ATI Global i the past decade, most recently arranging a $1 billion refinancing.Champion’s regarded as one of the top leveraged finance bankers in the country, structuring debt deals and raising finance for corporate and financial investor clients.
