Canopies were mounted, with women dressed in black displaying placards demanding that power be restored to the area
They stated that for two years, the nine communities had been without electricity even as they paid their bills, lamenting that the two years blackout had adversely affected their businesses. One of the protesters, who gave his name as Tony Onuowu, said: “We have been here since morning, and our demand is simple. We want Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution to restore power to us. It has not been like this in the past but the new management has changed everything.
“We have engaged in series of meetings but nothing has changed, so we want those at the helms of affairs to come to our aid.”
Devastating!
