·CBC News confirmed that Loblaws will start restocking Frito-Lay products on Monday after a months-long absence due to a pricing dispute between the companies.
A link in that article leads to which has a short video in the middle explaining rising costs of transporting food to Winnipeg, as an example. My question: whose idea was it to truck food from Toronto to Winnipeg? That's why we built the railroad.
Why does loblaws care about passing the price of junk to the customer but Fruits, vegetables and Meat…. Skies the limit on those prices. Jack up the healthy foods and make the garbage junk food cheap. Loblaws are a bunch of crooks. How about doing something about those prices
Who cares?
Frito-Lay chips are the absolute worst. I certainly wasn’t missing them
Frito lays wins. Lobsucks loses
WHAAA! MY FRITOS HURT! GOT TO MAKE MULLA FOR THE SHARE HOLDERS.
How is this news?
No food company should be public on the stock market. There is no way to increase value but to increase prices or cheapen product.
Booooo. Keep the coveredbridgechips on the shelves. Canadian independent from New Brunswick. Way better quality than Lays.
Wow, didn’t even notice they were missing.
Looking forward to paying $40 per bag now!
Boycott Frito Lays.
I didn’t notice
CBC news for you…
Holy, go to NoFrills for chips…way better than Lays.
Stock more oats.
It’s about time, I wanna pay top dollar for my chips! nomorenoname! 😂🤣😂🤣
Loblaws discovered shoppers went elsewhere for Frito-Lay products and did the rest of their grocery shopping while there.
I don't buy them anyway.
Actually the no name brand is pretty good.
Got some today, was so happy!! 3 for $8
Imagine going out or your way to eat Lays. Literally any other brand is better
Lol lays have been avaible everwhere else
who gives a crap about lays chips. CBC. you should be reporting on the empty produce shelves and how your benefactor is gonna solve this
I missed my Lays Salt & Vinegar
Now do Bran Flakes.
Why would anyone eat this obesity-causing, sodium-dregded poison? Never mind… de gustibus non disputandum est.
it had nothing to to with loblaws 'refusal to raise prices.' it was about loblaws not wanting to dip into their billions to pay for them, trust me I know, also sure we the actual employees now have to bust our asses to restock
Loblaws could have eaten the price increase and kept them the same. They are bizzilionares.
Wasn’t Loblaws caught gouging bread prices a few years ago? Probably the most expensive grocery store in the country.
Now that inflation has brought all the other chip companies up to par, Frito-Lay is back baby!
Great ol. Lay thawhat I say there back
It is my understanding that Frito-Lay plans to reduce product volume to meet Loblaws price demands. It's unfortunate because I think most of us would've paid a little more for our full bag of Doritos just like we've adjusted to paying more for everything else.
Too bad. I was enjoying a more eclectic ‘junk food aisle’.
Great news for potato chip crowd.
Lays are over-rated and the bags seem to always be shrinking in size.
They better not abandon those companies that stepped up to help them! I’m still buying CB chips. Ta heck with conglomerates!
Went to another brand. Old Dutch. Vastly superior quality.
Old Dutch. There is only Old Dutch.
Lays dill pickle, here I come! That said, No Name dill pickle chips are honestly the best alternative to Lays that I’ve found thus far. Respect to nonamebrands !
Their chips are the worst chips in Canada, anyways.
I'm good. I like my Humpty Dumpty ChedACorn.
Weston jerks
I guess the government will pay for the new 60 million dollar shelving to hold those $30 bags of chips
'we're happy to once again have a wide assortment in our chip aisle.' Thing is we DID have a wide assortment. An assortment from smaller companies, local companies etc. and it was getting better every day. Frito has a near monopoly on chips in this country and that's a shame.
Yup $30 per bag
It was always about lining their own pockets.
Bout time!
I don't buy that garbage anyways...keep the old dutch, or elsewhere I go...
