Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town Thabo Makgoba has used his Easter sermon to speak out against attacks on migrants across the world.

Preaching at St George’s Cathedral, Makgoba condemned the aggression of some countries such as Russia which has invaded Ukraine. He reflected on the circumstances of those who are affected by domestic abuse and gender-based violence here on home soil and those who live in war torn countries like Ukraine and also reflected on strife in Cabo Delgado in Mozambique.

SACC Secretary-General Bishop Malusi Mpumlwana says the national indaba should involve all sectors including foreign national representative organisations. He says the whole question of immigration management and the refugee status regime should be looked at.
