What if a new job offer could make you even happier? Headhunters and staffing firms likely will be calling you if they’ve found you in LinkedIn.
That’s a common conundrum in today’s job market. Before you’re confronted with that decision, now would be the time to consider what aspects of another job could make you happier.Compare the job you have with options· Will the new job give you a greater sense of meaning and purpose? Only you can answer that one.
· Does the company support your community? Is it doing “good work” to make life better for someone or some class of people? So don’t feel like this is a life-changing decision. You’re not committing to this job for the rest of your life. You’re only committing to stay as long the company needs you — and, more importantly, you need the company.· Will you be able to manage your work day so that it allows you to manage your life outside of work?
And then there is the money. What good does it do if you’re unhappy? Or if you don’t have any time off to enjoy that extra money.
