KOTA KINABALU: Budget hotel operators in Sabah can finally breathe a sigh of relief after not being able to do much business over the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Malaysia Budget Hotel Association Sabah chapter chairman James Ong said the industry had suffered due to travel bans and movement restrictions.

"We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel after two years," Ong said on Wednesday . "This has created a 'mini boom' for us as there is a lot of cash in the market. Of course, this is not sustainable in the long run but it's good for everyone at the moment," he said.
