That amount translates to the organization being able to provide 855,000 meals, a Food Bank spokesperson said.

A dinner package from Edwins, the fine-dining restaurant in Cleveland’s Shaker Square, ended up going for more than $15,000. The restaurant’s Brandon Chrostowski agreed to do it for the top two donors, so that package alone brought in more than $30,000. An Opus 216 lawn concert went for $4,550, and private steak dinner atin Avon went for more than $1,200. Tickets to see Chris Rock at Playhouse Square sold for $1,000.

A wine pull offered folks a chance to pull a cork for $20 to win a bottle. Value of the bottles ranged from $15 to $100. Beers and desserts also were offered. The event came back after a two-year hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic. It supports the annual Harvest for Hunger campaign, a multi-county drive.

The warehouse was the site for the event for the final time. The food bank is scheduled to move into its new building on Coit Road this summer.
