The judge ordered Facebook to reimburse Redman $767 for his court costs -- but just $1 in damages.

An East Bay father squared off against social media giant Facebook in small claims court Monday -- all over a defective virtual reality headset.

"The judge grilled them about everything they put me through," Redman said."Her eyes opened up wide when she saw my documentation.""They said they were out of stock. I said, 'I want my money back.' They said, 'No, we're not gonna do that, we'll give you some extra credits,'" Redman explained. "It's not about the money, it's the principle," Redman said."Large companies shouldn't treat customers this way."
