Israeli police clashed with Palestinian mourners packed around the coffin of Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh at the start of her funeral procession in Jerusalem on Friday.

Masked police officers faced scores of flag-waving and chanting Palestinians in the compound of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, Reuters footage showed. The casket was almost dropped, but was recovered just before hitting the ground.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel is to blame for Abu Akleh’s death, speaking at a memorial ceremony on Thursday. Israeli police said they were “forced to act” before the funeral, after a group of Palestinians they described as rioters had begun throwing stones in the hospital compound. There was no immediate comment from Palestinian authorities.

And you still have the balls to claim to be impartial?

There was no clash. It was Israeli apartheid military force attacking mourners of a Palestinian woman they had murdered

Funny enough because most publications are reporting that there was a clash,it was so sad to watch especially when the coffin was about to fall 😭😭😭😭😭😭👍👍

Typical

Even SABC is on this nonsense western media propaganda? Like WTF SABC?

Absolute shit reporting

They killed her and now they wanted to kill even her death and burial......

Guys do you see how empowered racist are under Cyril Ramaphosa?

But what nonsense is this? 'Clash'?

Your reporting leave much to be desired. We all know that the Israeli police attacked the mourners and Palestinians who were carrying that coffin.

We all saw that it was an attack

This is so poor from the SABC

Mnxm! Clashed!!!!?

“Clashed?” Respectfully, GTFOH with this kinda reporting please.

Apartheid sympathizers.. Clashed really?

They didn't clash with mourners. Israeli forces assaulted mourners for no reason. It's apartheid.

Remove 'clashed with' and replace with 'attacked', and you'll be much closer to the truth.

'Clashed' ke mao
