When the pandemic struck, WritechGroup co-founder Ted Wright found himself questioning what he wanted to do for the next two decades of his life. The answer involved selling a majority stake in the fire protection systems firm, he tells Lorcan Allen.

The pandemic gave Ted Wright the time to think about what he wanted from life. Up to that point, the 44-year-old had been working 16 and 17-hour days as chief executive of a business that was growing rapidly.

Headquartered in Mullingar, Writech designs and manufactures fire protection systems for some of the largest blue-chip companies in Ireland across a range of sectors, including data centres, life sciences, logistics, retail, commercial property, and food and beverage.
