A historic house formerly part of Burnham Beeches estate springs onto the market.

The property features a French door entrance opening to a library, leadlight and picture windows and ceiling roses.

“At various times the house was used by Burnham Beeches as an overflow for guests with poetry readings and art retreats, for a time there was a resident artist,” she said. The owner, who is downsizing, said she had tried to maintain the garden’s original structure and plants as much as possible including the “very old hydrangeas, camellias and roses”.An in-ground pool behind a picket fence, fire pit, gazebo, chicken coop, greenhouse, cubby house and garden studio complete the list of outdoor attractions.
