The company recently announced a souped-up evolution of CarPlay. But do larger infotainment systems make distracted driving worse?

Rather than simply mirroring an iPhone, CarPlay will let drivers change radio stations and also showcase vehicle data like fuel level and speed. The company says it will begin to announce partnerships with automakers late next year.

insightful article. Great reporting AarianMarshall . Technology should be conducive to the safety of the users & not compromise it. Apple would be doing the greatest disservice to humanity if the new CarPlay ends up compromising driver safety. The regulators need to act asap.

These screen dash cars are garbage, looks super garish and think of the service life issues. A one or maybe two screen mmi system is all the screens you want.

Yes but the cars it's probably designed for, the cars with that much screen real estate, will most likely have some kind of driver assist system that handles a lot of the driving
