The minister said the investment was aimed at increasing output in the entire value chain to meet the country’s demand for food, export and employment. “This is further demonstration of commitment to use the instrumentality of sound statistics in designing appropriate policies to grow and develop all aspects of the economy in Nigeria,” she said.

Adeniran said it would help policy makers make important decisions on how to increase the total output and develop it to maximise its potential throughout the entire value chain. Adeniran said that the design and methodology for the conduct of the exercise would be carried out digitally for the first time in Nigeria.

According to him, 165 trainers and monitors are being trained, who will thereafter train no fewer than 3, 000 field staff across the country.
