Sony completes $3.6 billion deal to buy Bungie

will help it expand its own live service game offerings.

The company plans to spend 55 percent of PlayStation’s budget on live service games by 2025, revealed Sony CEO Jim Ryan at a May investor presentation. PlayStation plans on10 live service games before March 2026, and Sony believes Bungie’s assistance will be crucial in this effort.

So it's going to merge into: PlayStungie.

Over paid.

This is still so weird. I have no idea why this purchase makes sense to any of them. Bungie left Microsoft because they valued their independence. Sony killed Killzone because they wanted to focus on single player stories & the devs wanted to also focus on single player games.

They better make a new Killzone

Let the games as a service begin.

They should make multi-players for their big AAA games. If they fit of course.
