The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development have warned newly trained Independent Monitors not to harrass beneficiaries of the National Social Investment Programme all over the federation.

At the flag off training for 3,000 monitors at the weekend in Benin City, Edo State, representative of the ministry, Margaret Chuka-Ogwude, stated that 4,452 independent monitors were trained in the first phase, noting that the new monitors were expected to continue using the same platform to report their activities from the field.

She said that the NSIP was created by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , in 2016 with the mandate of lifting citizens out of poverty through a number of Social Interventions which included the Job Creation Programme, the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme.

She noted that the NSIP Independent Monitors were responsible for monitoring the programme in their communities in schools, households, and market clusters, with the focus of ensuring that the primary objectives of the NSIPs were achieved.

Oh, FG really need to get sense. If they are doing well, they needn't fear negative remarks. But what they actually meant is that we shouldn't let investors see the true picture of the mess our economy is in.

Or, don't odd the money 💵
