Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak suggested that domestic investments by Government-linked companies (GLCs) may level the country’s economy.

Kota Kinabalu: .“As a result of the pandemic, limited domestic and international movement and standard operating procedures since March 2020 left a devastating impact on the global economy. “Even though we have been declared to have entered the endemic phase, the effects are still being felt today.“All this has resulted in a significant decrease in demand for goods and services in the market.

“Thus, investment in strategic sectors that are badly affected such as tourism can help stimulate the activities of the sector and prevent some businesses from going out of business. “Without these investments, it could cause some smaller companies to go out of business. At the beginning of 2020, the number of visitors who visited Sabah was more than 300,000. “Imagine if each visitor spends only RM1,000 per person.
