Glencore Corporate Affairs Head Cass McCarthy has emphasised the contributions the mining company has made to Australia’s economy and its importance to the nation’s economic future.
Ms McCarthy said most people would know Glencore as one of the nation’s largest coal producers but might not realise its prominence mining earth metals. “Glencore is Australia’s largest producer of Cobalt and Zinc and the second largest producer of Nickel and Copper,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.Ms McCarthy said the sector is under a lot of pressure which has prompted the company to advertise its mining operations.
“We’ve taken the position that we want to talk about our company – we’re very proud of our business and particularly our coal business,” she said. “Our coal business in the Hunter Valley … last week we released an Economic Contribution Report and that demonstrated that Glencore in Australia contributed $14 billion.”

Coal is a non-renewable resource, is irreplaceable as it takes millions of years to create. Aust permits mining though it needs to be properly compensated for any loss of such a resource.
Prefer Glencore pay Aust the correct amount for the minerals it extracts, irreplaceable minerals. Chatting is something which isn't a sufficient nor a correct amount of pay for such irreplaceable minerals.
As long as we don't tax them further she'll be happy
