Amanda Brower on what fuels her career as a commercial escrow officer and assistant VP at FidelityIn commercial escrow work, Amanda Brower has found you never stop learning and you learn by doing.
“Amanda is the perfect example of the old adage, ‘knowledge is power.’ She never stops learning and asking questions and in turn has become one of the top commercial closers at Fidelity,” said Paula Hester, division president of North Texas operations at Fidelity National Title. “There is always something new to learn in the title business, and Amanda never misses an opportunity to learn and grow.
“The seller has counsel, the buyer has counsel, the lender has counsel, and we are working on title and getting it ready for closing,” Brower said. “Sometimes there’s a mortgage broker and a real estate broker. These transactions have a lot of people involved.”Brower got into the field nine years ago, initially working as a receptionist at a law firm. The firm had a contract with a title company, serving as a fee attorney office.
She has concentrated on commercial deals for several years. “I felt like I had the hang of residential and I wanted to do something more challenging,” she said. “I definitely find commercial is more challenging.”“A great day is when we have a really hard deal come across the finish line and we send an email to the client saying, ‘Your funding has been disbursed.’”Building connections
“My clients feel like I’m there for them, picking up calls, answering questions, handling details even at 11 at night or midnight. That’s what matters to them,” she said. “You also have to be personable — able to connect with people.
