A veritable who’s-who of German industry will be on hand in Stephenville tomorrow as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz joins Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for what’s being called a historic accord to develop green hydrogen on the Port au Port Peninsula.Among the long list of German corporate leaders in attendance at tomorrow’s event are Werner Baumann the CEO of Bayer, Dr. Christian Bruch, the President and CEO of Siemens Energy, and the CEOs of Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.

Tomorrow’s event is being called the largest gathering of its type ever assembled and is being touted as the birth of an important new industry. The Qalipu First Nation, the Miawpukek First Nation and other local Indigenous communities are also participating.

When will the people in NL wake up to this garbage an the sell out out inside the overpass

My hope is that there is major benefit to the people of our province🤞🏻And let’s all hope that the crackerjacks that led Muskrat (Nalcor/NL Hydro) don’t have any involvement with this potential project.

The auditor general needs to investigate the relationship that exists between the Furey Government and Brendan Paddick. He was given a plum position on the Churchill file, resigned and Furey says he does not know why.He is a major investor in World Energy GH2.

Exporting Hydrogen seems like a great idea, environmentally and financially speaking. It has the potential to be our next big export. Here’s to hoping it works out and isn’t another MF or Solar Powered Moose Detector 2.0 🤞

Why is no one asking who pay's for the decommissioning of those turbines the cost is estimated at close to 100k each when their life runs out

Hopefully the people of this province come out on top vs another debt filled giveaway history has shown …

Holy fuck, not negative I know. Lobsters trying to crawl out of the bucket scenario. FFS wait and see.😳

You complainers don't even know what is being announced and you are already bitching about it. Never change aging population of Newfoundland. Never change.

This’ll be the liberals muskrat falls… Announcing a deal before an environmental assessment is done is peak Hypocrisy by this government

Got love people complaining that nothing new develops here and then complaining that something new will fail. Pessimism at its finest.

This is not on the best interests of Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an environmental nightmare for the people who live near there

Stephenville should change its name to Selloutville.

I would love Rex Murphy there today , to ask 10 Unscripted questions about this project, That they would Actually Have to Answer for once .

I wish the project well but why do I suddenly have a craving for cucumbers?

How big of a Churchill Falls blunder can this one be?
