Salesforce co-CEO Marc Benioff was put on the spot during the company's earnings call on Wednesday having to field a question regarding the company's new COO.

Salesforce co-CEO Marc Benioff tried to assuage investor doubts at an earnings call this week regarding recent changes to the company's C-suite, and most notably, its global sales.stating it had appointed Brian Millham as its new president and chief operating officer replacing Gavin Patterson, who transitioned from his role as president and chief revenue officer to chief strategy officer, the company said.

Meanwhile during the investor question period, Brent Thill, who leads global investor Jefferies' San Francisco-based internet research team, questioned Benioff about Millham's move to president and COO, mentioning that there is"a lot of concern" that there's going to be"some transition period." "He's already been a key part of our sales program," Benioff said."I don't expect any transition period at all, and I'm holding him to that, actually."
