A legal expert says it is possible that some of former President Jacob Zuma’s pension benefits could be attached, following a summary judgment against him for R6.5 million outstanding on a loan.

This is to cover the outstanding amount of R6.5 million plus interest on a loan that Zuma defaulted on. Zuma took out a loan with VBS in 2016 to repay the state for non-security upgrades at his Nkandla home. The curator’s spokesperson , Louise Brugman, says the summary judgment was for immediate payment and that they are only waiting for a signed copy of the order before they start drawing up a warrant of execution for the sheriff to attach Zuma’s assets.Legal expert at the University of Pretoria , Professor Llewellyn Curlewis, says Zuma could lodge a court application to set aside the summary judgment.

Commenting on the order, VBS shareholder and founder Madambi Muvhulawa says Zuma must honour his loan agreement.

Lekota is paying back for hate on Zuma, others to follow

Kanti has the state not already attached what he owes for his legal bill🤷🏾‍♂️

But he has Money for frivolous court challenges

No problem,He will survive, but some of us who wishes him bad things ..You will regret 🤞🤞.

If there is no justice for one man al fuls wil blame him for wrong doing of others. We dn't hv constitution that protect al ppl equal on this country Some r doing as they like nt according to constitution. Madonsela n other judges bt citizens r nt against this injustice of judges

Zuma was made to pay money that he wasn't supposed to pay whilst Thulas Nxesi continues with his as if he didn't play any part in the Nkandla upgrade where his then department (Public Works) paid contractors money that wasn't in the contract.

He might actually be a pauper by the time he departs, he clearly has no quality people around him to help him not to drag himself to the gutter so obvious and embarrassingly.

🤣🤣🤣 One of his ex-wives already has a garnishing order of ~70k per month against his pension. There is a reason he left school at the age of 12. Fighting the might of the apartheid regime while making babies in foreign territories was much easier than counting to eleventy…
