The Chief Executive Officer of StarTimes Nigeria, Tunde Aina, also stated that Nigerians now prefer their music to foreign music and as such, there should be room for others to showcase their talents.
He said, “Nigerian music is getting more popular and Nigerians now enjoy their music more than foreign ones. The present afrobeats singers are good but we have so many untapped talents that we need to invest in. “So, we at StarTimes have decided to give them the opportunity to nurture their talents. That is why we have the collaboration with Kennis Music. I hope that through this programme, we can build more talents for the music industry.”
Also speaking, popular music producer, ID Cabasa, posited that the platform was needed to sustain the efforts of legendary afrobeats singers who worked hard to take the genre of music to its present level. “Anything one does not pass on to those behind one will definitely die. I have a strong belief that this initiative will sustain afrobeats beyond this generation.”All rights reserved.
