There was agreement on the need to create a more attractive environment for American companies to invest in South Africa. | Lisaleesolomon1

These are just some of the sentiments echoed by President Cyril Ramaphosa as he concluded his official working visit to the United States at the invitation of US President Joe Biden. The two leaders deliberated on a range of critical issues of national, regional, and global importance during their bilateral meeting, where trade, investment, global peace and stability, health, as well as climate change, and the just energy transition were discussed.

Speaking on trade and investment Ramaphosa said there was agreement on the need to create a more attractive environment for American companies to invest in South Africa, where an estimated 600 US companies are already doing business in a range of sectors.Next year South Africa will host the African Growth and Opportunity Act Forum which will map the next phase of Africa-US trade.

Ramaphosa welcomed the United States' further commitment to improve bilateral trade and investment volumes, which will create much-needed jobs and economic growth in the country.Concerns were raised by Ramaphosa regarding tariffs levied by the US on South African steel and aluminium products, which South Africa,"... views as unfair and punitive".

It's understood that the work on the investment plan for the Just Energy Transition Partnership between South Africa, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the European Union is expected to be completed by the UN Climate Change Conference in November 2022 in Egypt.

Lisaleesolomon1 You fool how could you attract firms whereas we don't have energy capacity right now the same countries donated money for renewable they are in deep energy crisis. So who is fooling who?

Lisaleesolomon1 To sell us more vaccines or maybe buy ESKOM?

Lisaleesolomon1 You have a big job on your shoulders now. Good luck and Godspeed.

Lisaleesolomon1 Now the Americans will find out with CR that is all they get. A decision. No action.

Lisaleesolomon1 How when we dont have electricity. Unless there's 100% electricity in SA toh just waising our hard earned money travelling and trying to negotiate investments. Attend to electricity first

Lisaleesolomon1 Yes, let's start with stage 6 loadshedding

Lisaleesolomon1 Hopefully the measures to improve the investment environment included stopping corruption, securing stable electricity supply and food supply i.e. stop farm murders, improving road and rail infrastructure, improve efficiency of ports, get a grip on crime etc etc etc

Lisaleesolomon1 That’s going to be a little difficult with the current levels of rolling blackouts

Lisaleesolomon1 What happened to Chevrolet?

Lisaleesolomon1 Yes but they must bring their own batteries because their companies would survive Eskom and loadshedding

Lisaleesolomon1 ain't happening under ANC

Lisaleesolomon1 Very easy. Low taxes. But they'll never.

Lisaleesolomon1 Ebony and Ivory?

Lisaleesolomon1 They can't even provide that for South Africans. Cherity begins at home

Lisaleesolomon1 This man vows a lot and does fokkol alot.

Lisaleesolomon1 Re rekise Phosi we are your veggies

Lisaleesolomon1 First would be to remove money laundering president.

Lisaleesolomon1 Come invest here, oh btw we don't have electricity..

Lisaleesolomon1 … investment with ZERO ENERGY. Are we going to connect to the ‘Phala Phala’ grid, to get POWER?😂😂😂

Lisaleesolomon1 POTUS CyrilRamaphosa THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN ASSURE HIM OF THE PHOTO SHOWS THE RIVER OF EFFLUENT FLOWING THROUGH THE ZINNIAVILLE INDUSTRIAL AREA! Go for it old Biden, bring your companies here, to live like South Africans do while squirrel and you have tea at the white house! Viva

Lisaleesolomon1 Bad president but we a just talking without action we will regret but it will b late watch it

Lisaleesolomon1 We always get heavy loadshedding when Eskom want an increase. Anyone else noticed the trend?

Lisaleesolomon1 Qala ngogesi mfethu🤨

Lisaleesolomon1 POTUS CyrilRamaphosa they will invest, then they will burn you down! No law and order, looting at its best and an entitled confederation of trade unions! That is why we live in a sht hole!! Hopefully the SA government can supply you with electricity, water and other services!

Lisaleesolomon1 🙃

Lisaleesolomon1 If Cyril Ramaphosa had some sense left in him, he would have cut his trip short & come back to fix this mess that the country is in but it’s his masters who called him so he will ignore everything happened home just to satisfy his masters. Eskom LoadShedding Stage6

Lisaleesolomon1 There goes what's left of our land.

Lisaleesolomon1 For that, there is a price to be paid politically. The reason for US intervention and an invitation after all these years to the WH is so that you can capitulate your alliances with Russia. We won't get anything more from US other that what they want from us.

Lisaleesolomon1 The companies would be crazy to invest in a country that has no electricity and strikes are permanent for what ever reason,so why promise what you can't deliver!!!

Lisaleesolomon1 The current blackouts are by design so that a solution is presented when the Pres comes back.....

Lisaleesolomon1 CyrilRamaphosa head up in the clouds again Investors need power to run a business not stage 6 load shedding

Lisaleesolomon1 With no electricity...sure. 🤣😂

Lisaleesolomon1 To be chased out and burned

Lisaleesolomon1 Current government could not organize a piss up in brewery

Lisaleesolomon1 Invest in a country that doesn't even have electricity? 🤔

Lisaleesolomon1 no South Africans want to Invest in USA

Lisaleesolomon1 What can be more attractive than Stage 6 loadshedding?
