Earlier this week the truck driver Sibusiso Siyaya appeared in the Pongola Magistrates Court. He is facing 20 charges of culpable homicide. Mbalula says, ‘’The driver recklessly overtook vehicles and drove on an oncoming lane for approximately 1,2 kilometres. These vehicles had to swerve out of the way of the approaching truck. The driver never made any attempt to return to his correct lane, but continued driving facing oncoming traffic. The report concludes that driver error is the major contributing factor to the root cause of the crash”.
Mbalula also condemned the actions of the bakkie driver for using it to transport people. Mbalula says whilst this raises the issue of the lack of scholar transport, it is still illegal.Share article
Fix must just focus more on repairing the railway lines for his first term, by doing so we will have less trucks and cars on our roads. Second term than focus on road maintenance and expansion. He can't do everything with the reduced budget he has, it's impossible.
Like we didn’t know this already. Mxm he Voetsek
Everybody except fokile knew that a split second after the crash...🤔
That reckless driver must rot in jail
Oh shit... that man is spitting 😳 why didn't we realize that🤯
AyoError leya
how long did it take you to figure that out....
Stating the obvious.
No Shit Sherlock Did he ads any value at all?
Bitter pill, especially coming from gvt that lies all the time but in this case, that road is way better then what i have driven on in Limpopo, the driver was reckless and that is just that. Sad but we simply need to plead with drivers to reason and drive with caution 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
But surely that was clearly stated on the same day, did he need a media briefing to say that or just his cover up of failure to draw up a national plan on road maintenance, construction and ensuring they get trucks off our roads to rail?
What happens when potholes are not repaired also making the road unsafe, who is being reckless then?
