PETALING JAYA: Caribbean countries have expressed interest in Malaysia’s achievements in the aviation industry and hope to learn more from training offered by the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said the MTCP will assist the International Civil Aviation Organisation member states through technical cooperation.

The member countries of CASSOS comprise Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. “Having trained 400 technical personnel from different countries, MTCP will continue to help member states through technical cooperation,” he said on Facebook yesterday.

On Friday, he announced that Malaysia had regained its Category 1 IASA safety rating after three years of being in Category 2.
