Former Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice and business partner Tim Lenihan are reportedly ready to finalize a deal to build a wine-making facility and tasting room in Walla Walla.

Rice joined the Seahawks in 2011 and played through 2014, the year the Hawks won the Super Bowl. He spent seven seasons in the NFL.

Lenihan is a real estate broker. He says the winery plans to release additional varietals sometime in the spring and fall of 2023.says Rice brings an “incredible wine palate, a unique business perspective, and a drive to create unique experiences for Dossier guests.” It did not go into detail as to what might make up a “unique experience.”

Other local football players with wineries to call their own are Drew Bledsoe, who played for the WSU Cougars and the New England Patriots. He and his wife own Bledsoe Estates. UW Huskies quarterback Damon Huard partnered with NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino to create a winery called “Passing Time.”
