Valero is denying California regulators' accusations of price gouging amid a drop in crude oil prices, pointing instead to the state's regulatory environment.

could do to address logistics or other obstacles that have contributed to the price increases. He also demanded that refiners explain why they supposedly allowed inventory levels to drop despite "for months, or in some cases years" that planned maintenance would occur.

He noted that Valero has planned maintenance activity but said the company has planned accordingly to meet its contractual obligations to its customers. Folwarkow blamed low inventories on post-COVID’s growing demand and limited supply. He said the higher prices in California than in the rest of the U.S. had to do with the state being the "most expensive operative environment in the country and a very hostile regulatory environment for refining.

He argued that the state’s policies have made it difficult to increase refining capacity and have prevented supply projects to lower operating costs of refineries. "Adding further costs, in the form of new taxes or regulatory constraints, will only further strain the fuel market and adversely impact refiners and ultimately those costs will pass to California consumers," he said.

Oil companies shouldn’t sale another gallon of gas in California and see how them dummies deal with that

Oh yeah it's totally the gas company's gouging us. Not by biden policies to shutdown all the pipelines. Also forcing most oil companies in America to shut down. Then release a bunch of oil from our reserve and sold it to another country. It totally not Biden's folt

Newsome is a moron. CA gas prices are so high because of the high taxes on production, transportation, and sales tax on the consumer. His tax plan will cause further price inflation per gallon.

California has a state operated site that breaks down gas prices based on all factors, not just oil prices. The biggest cost by far is the labor.

The dems always blame everyone but themsleves..themselves... its like the M0R0NS who defend communism by saying the other guys just did it wrong

Not surprised. Look at their politicians. Vote the evil out. When will CA citizens wake up and learn that the Democrats are doing everything possible to destroy the lives of the people.

The reason why their BLUESTATE gas is so high is THEIR GAS TAX may be if they were to VOTE RED and deport all 1st and 2nd generation LEGAL immigrants, this won't HAPPEN.

This is a must read

At some point the right answer for oil companies is to Galt out of California.

Newsoms only solution to literally everything is to raise taxes which will only worsen this and all of our problems. Try and think out of the box for once democrats 🤨

This is true

Lmao maybe their policies against oil companies is the reason for prices rising?

And Gov Newsom’s solution is to tax the oil companies even more,,,,,what’s wrong with this picture

No one in their right mind thinks an oil company is going to pump more oil to make less money.

I wonder what prices at the pump will be when Valero et al pull out of CA..

Maybe they should pull out of California

Democrats are gouging consumers
