CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, representatives from Honda, and several other state and federal officials made a “major economic development announcement” on Tuesday.
The company announced that Ohio has been selected to receive a $4.2 billion investment into the state’s electric vehicle and battery production.A new electric vehicle battery plant in Fayette County will be established and existing Honda facilities in Union, Logan, and Shelby counties will begin other forms of production.
Construction on the new plant in Fayette County is scheduled to begin in 2023 with production of new batteries likely by 2025.
