The Star Entertainment Group has been fined $100 million by the New South Wales gaming regulator in response to breaches at its Sydney casino – however it will remain operating and all staff will continue to be employed.

Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd says the NSW Independent Casino Commission has realised that the Star

is a “big employer” in Sydney and “contributes to the economy” – resulting in their ability to maintain trading.
