Southwest Airlines launched a new referral program aimed at attracting new business clients as travel demand continues to recover.

, vice president of Southwest Business, said the company hopes to lure more small and medium-sized businesses with the referral program. While many large companies continue to hold back on travel in favor of video conferences and work-from-home policies, small and medium-sized businesses have resumed face-to-face meetings to get deals done.

Harvey said remains optimistic that business travel demand will continue to recover and he wants Southwest to be the airline of the choice for those customers. After a steady increase in demand following Labor Day, he said he expects the recovery to continue in January and February, two months that are traditionally stronger for business travel.

Overall, three-quarters of travel managers surveyed by the GBTA said they expect their companies will take more business trips next year.
