The federal and provincial governments are providing more than $68,000 in funding to help the association buy the simulator as part of its work with the provincial Youth Transition Program pilot. The training simulator, called the Vortex Edge Max, replicates the feel of real heavy construction equipment. It has training software that allows users to progress through various difficulties using 10 different machines, including cranes and earthmovers.
