James Stevens, 69, was the director of SEPTA’s video evidence unit when he provided Robert Welsh, 59, who owned Spector Logistics, Inc., with insider information from March 2014 to July 2018. Stevens and Welsh were indicted for allegedly participating in a “bribery and extortion scheme,”Spector Logistics, Inc. was contracted to install, upkeep, and supply video equipment to monitor SEPTA locations.
A SEPTA spokesperson confirmed the transit company will continue to work with federal authorities as the case progresses.
