The public submissions started pouring in to the Competition Bureau during March, 2021, when the merger of Canada’s two largest cable companies was first announced, Mr. Albert said. They were submitted through several different means, including merger forms, information requests and complaint forms. The Competition Bureau said in its opening statements on Monday that selling Freedom, which operates in Ontario, Alberta and B.C., to Videotron would leave Freedom a weakened wireless competitor because Rogers would acquire a number of Shaw’s assets, such as infrastructure and personnel, that currently support the carrier.
Rogers wants you to believe this deal would be better for consumers but why would they want to make a deal that is better for consumers? They wouldn’t. They know in the long run this is better for Rogers to the detriment of the consumer. No citizen in Canada wants this deal.
Well of course many of the people who wrote to the Competition Bureau were opposed to the merger. What kind of person writes to the Competition Bureau to say a merger is perfectly satisfactory and wouldn't bother them at all?
