Hundreds of families across Australia who paid for their children to participate in training sessions and academies run by a collapsing Brisbane theatre company are out of pocket and in the dark.
AVT Live Entertainment Group was headquartered at the Hayward Street Theatre in Stafford, according to ASIC documents.was cancelled on Wednesday and the future of its youth academy and other productions appeared dire. Admission prices would be refunded through the ticketing agency. A Queensland parent with two daughters already fully paid up said an email from Ticketek was the family’s only notification about the cancelled shows.
The men, who were both bailed on Saturday after their arrests the morning before, cannot be named for legal reasons.
