in the country almost two years ago. And while stock levels have somewhat stabilised in the last few months, shoppers are paying a premium.

Koodoo, which has exclusive rights to distribute Sony PlayStation consoles and peripherals in South Africa, isfor a PS5, a slight increase on what the console was originally expected to retail at, which is also limited to one PS5 per order. Takealot is selling the same for R15,999. The more affordable Digital Edition console is sold out.

And unless retailers are hoarding their stock for a Cyber Monday sale, getting a PS5 at a great discount just isn't happening for South African gamers. Takealot is selling a PS5 Gaming Bundle for 17% cheaper at R18,999, but not as part of its Blue Dot promotion on Black Friday. Incredible Connection has deals on controllers, chargers, and headsets but no actual consoles.
