French fashion brand Balenciaga has filed a $25 million lawsuit against the production company it hired to make an advertising campaign that drew widespread condemnation.

Balenciaga is suing North Six for "extensive damages" it says the ad caused. It claims that"members of the public, including the news media, have falsely and horrifically associated Balenciaga with the repulsive and deeply disturbing subject of the court decision." The lawsuit does not explicitly mention the bondage-clad teddy bears depicted in the photos.posts, with the brand saying the teddy bears"should not have been featured with children in this campaign.

A spokesperson representing Des Jardins said the set designer wasn't involved in the teddy-bear shoot. The spokesman also said Balenciaga was well aware of how the finished ads would look. "Everyone from Balenciaga was on the shoot and was present on every shot and worked on the edit of every image in post production," Des Jardins' spokesman said."This has all been blown out of context and we are hiring a legal team to support Nick on this which is why no one has commented yet.

."We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot."

SMH! They approved both campaigns which I assume answered a brief. They need to take accountability & stop the shenanigans. Who is advising them? 🥴

but what impudence and what hypocrites

Cristobal Balenciaga must rolling in his grave. 🙄

Im stupefied how this ridiculous thing about socalled bondage bears escalates. Im well aware that this comment could easily result in a life sentence or even a lynching.

Some people really need to consider rehab! 🤪

Overblown. The ads were very tame.

Lizard People.

Are you sure you don't want to wait 2 years to report this?

oh yea now its someone else's fault you had to approve it.

This story is beyond….how can SO many people thought this was artsy and cool?

Stop sexualizing children.

Only because of Tucker Carleson.

Nobody (no a single celebrity) talks or argued about this unbelievable, shameful, and embarrasing campaign with toddlers⬇️

Okay groomer….

When we say we didn't know, they say, 'ignorance is not an excuse'

Do you know how many approvals you need before u push forward with an Ad? They are deflecting the guilt and & need to take ownership instead

😏

What? How in the world would a company not know what their paid ad agency is putting out? There are approvals that must be signed off on every step of the way. Come on, CBS, it's an obvious question. Someone should really ask. dc

If they approved it, I don't see liability.

Don’t blame the production company; blame yourselves for approving the ads.

Is this a joke?

So nobody checked this shit before it was released?

aliasvaughn Don't cry for Balenciaga. Those ads did not go out, without Balenciaga's approval. They should suck it up. Fire the person who approved it and move on

They knew who they were hiring

Thannks a milloon

How can you sue someone when you approved it!!!

As if advertising campaigns don't go through a rigorous back and forth, with multiple levels of approvals, before they're even shot on camera, much less released for publication. This is Balenciaga desperately trying to save itself from ruin by deflection, and it should be sued

And you still lie!!!!

lmaooooo WHAT.

Done with Balenciaga.

Ok, pedos...you approved the deal

Balenciaga sues company for $25 million over ad featuring child pornography ruling: ReportBalenciaga is reportedly suing a production company it hired to shoot a campaign after documents from a Supreme Court decision regarding child pornography were spotted in an ad. Nice try, Balenciaga. Mebbe you'd better fire your PR team in addition to Editorial & Art Direction... You can’t tell me that Balenciaga did not sign off on this ad campaign. They are trying to save face. When they need to just be cancelled. KimKardashian to say she’s evaluating. Trash. She is a mother. Cutting ties should not even take a second thought. Well, someone had to give the go ahead.
