These are a few of my favorite things from 2022.
Mothers. I had my first baby in August and nothing has been more important this year than the beautiful community of mothers that have come to my rescue. My own mom answered my phone calls at all times of the night while I panicked not knowing what to do with a newborn, and other moms offered me advice, hand-me-downs, food, love and support when I felt most vulnerable.
Revisiting books, music and movies that I loved in high school. As I ascended into motherhood this year, I became increasingly nostalgic for my youth as a way of saying goodbye to a version of me who only had to care for me. I went through a journey of revisiting media and art that I had fallen in love with as a teen who had a wide-eyed, bright view of the world.
