Was Acquiring Whole Foods Amazon's 'Bridge Too Far'?Amazon, even after acquiring Whole Foods for $13.7 billion in 2017 and offering a 2-hour grocery delivery service, is finding little success in the grocery business It sucks because you order stuff and then they'll be like 'we went ahead and charged your account $40 more incase something is out of stock and we have to send a more expensive replacement' I guess if you are Jeff Bezos you won't notice $40 but the rest of us! Whole Foods' high priced, granola head based retail model works for certain markets, but is not for the mass market. Amazon needs to do more to reposition WF to the mainstream, tackling WalMart and Kroger head on. Good.
